Medicare
Who you're actually talking to.
I'm Cristian Romero, spelled without the H, though it still ends up “Christian” on every coffee cup. I'm an independent licensed insurance broker, based right here in Sarasota.
I got into this because I watched too many people my parents' age get tangled up trying to plan a future nobody had explained to them. My job is simple: take Medicare and turn it into a clear, honest conversation you can actually follow.
I work with American Senior Benefits and can compare plans from multiple insurance companies I’m appointed with. The companies and plans I can offer depend on the product and where you live. I’ll be clear about those limits when we talk.
What working with me looks like.
Here's exactly what happens after you reach out.
A quick intro call
We talk on the phone for about 15 minutes. You tell me your situation. I tell you honestly whether I can help. If I can't, I'll point you somewhere that can.
Your plan review
If we keep going, we set aside a longer talk (30–45 minutes). We go over your doctors, your prescriptions, and what matters most to you.
Your options, side by side
I bring you 2 to 4 options. You see them together, prices, copays, drug costs, networks, and extras like dental and vision, and you pick the one that fits.
Enroll only if it fits
If you decide a plan fits after reviewing the required details, I can help submit the enrollment. If none of the plans I represent fits, I’ll tell you that too. You stay in charge.
Common questions
Does using a broker cost me anything?
There is no additional charge for my help. For the same plan and eligibility details, using a broker does not add a separate fee to the plan premium. I can also help with plan questions after enrollment.
Are you tied to one company?
No. I’m an independent broker and can compare plans from multiple insurance companies I’m appointed with. The companies and plans I can offer depend on the product and where you live. Medicare.gov shows the full list of options in your area.
What if I'm already on a plan I like?
That may be a good reason to review it. Premiums, drug lists, provider networks, and extra benefits can change. If your current coverage still fits after the comparison, there may be no reason to switch.
Do you meet in person or over the phone?
Whatever works best for you. I love meeting in person when I can, it's the best way to walk through options without anything feeling rushed. I'm based in Sarasota and licensed across all of Florida. For in-person visits, I most often meet folks in Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Tampa, and St. Pete. If a phone call, Zoom, or screen-share fits your schedule better, that works just as well.
What kinds of Medicare plans do you work with?
I work with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), and standalone Part D prescription drug plans from the insurance companies I’m appointed with. Which options are available depends on where you live and the product involved.
Ready when you are.
Pick whichever feels easiest. There's no wrong choice.
