If any of this sounds like you, I can help.

Most folks I talk to start with one of these three sentences. If you're nodding along, you're not alone — and you're in the right place.

"I'm turning 65 and I have no idea where to start."
Part A. Part B. Part C. Part D. Medigap. Advantage. You're getting mailers from companies you've never heard of. I'll walk you through it in plain English — usually in one 30-minute conversation.
"My plan keeps changing and I don't know if it still fits."
Premiums went up. Your doctor isn't in network anymore. The formulary changed. Every year plans shift, and most people don't review them. I'll do a free comparison across major carriers to see if you should switch — or stay.
"I keep getting calls from agents I don't trust."
Most of the people calling you are tied to one or two carriers — they sell what makes them the most money. I'm independent. I work with major carriers across Florida and my job is to be the guide, not the salesperson.

Who you're actually talking to.

I'm Cristian Romero, a licensed life and health insurance broker based in Sarasota. I built American Senior Benefits around a simple idea: Medicare should be explained, not sold.

When you sit down with me, here's what I do:

• I ask about your doctors. Then I check which plans they accept.

• I ask about your prescriptions. Then I run them through each plan's formulary to see what you'll actually pay.

• I ask about how you like to get healthcare — telehealth, specialists, snowbird travel — and match it to the right plan structure.

• I walk you through 2–4 options and explain the trade-offs.

You decide. I'm here to advise, not to close.

Because I'm an independent broker (not captive to any one carrier), I'm able to compare across major Medicare carriers in Florida and recommend the one that fits you. Medicare pays my commission — you pay nothing for my help, ever.

How this works — start to finish.

No surprises. No pressure. Here's exactly what happens after you reach out.

1

Free 15-Minute Intro Call

We talk on the phone. You tell me your situation. I tell you whether I can actually help. If I can't, I'll point you somewhere that can.

2

The Plan Review

If we keep going, we schedule a longer call (30–45 min). I'll have a Scope of Appointment ready (Medicare requires it). We go through your doctors, prescriptions, and goals.

3

Plan Comparison

I bring 2–4 options to the table. You see them side-by-side. We compare premiums, copays, drug costs, networks, and extras like dental and vision.

4

Enrollment (Only If It's Right)

If a plan fits, I can enroll you on the spot — takes about 20 minutes. If nothing fits, I'll tell you that too. You're never obligated.

Common Questions

Does using a broker cost me anything?
No, ever. Medicare brokers are paid commission by the insurance carrier — the same commission whether you sign up through me or directly with the carrier. Working with a broker doesn't change your premium by a penny.
Are you captive to one company?
No. I'm an independent broker contracted with major Medicare carriers serving Florida. I can recommend plans across carriers rather than being limited to one company's offering.
Will you cold-call me forever?
No. CMS rules — and my own preference — prohibit that. If you submit a form here, I'll reach out once or twice to see if you want to talk. If you don't, we're done.
What if I'm already on a plan I like?
Then keep it. My job during a plan review is just to confirm whether what you have is still the best fit. If it is, I'll tell you that. There's no obligation to switch.
Do you do appointments in person or virtually?
Whatever works for you. Most folks prefer phone or video for the comparison call. If you'd rather meet in person, I cover the Sarasota / Bradenton / Venice area and can travel within reason.
Do you help with Medicare Supplement (Medigap) too?
Yes — Plans G, N, and others. Same approach: I'll show you options across carriers and explain the trade-offs vs. Medicare Advantage.
